Laura Leif, Programming Director at the Quickdraw Animation Society, invited me to bring Time Farmers to Calgary, Alberta as part of a bike-in screening series being put on by Truck Gallery. Truck Gallery had been running a FREE mobile screening series all summer projecting work on the side of their movie camper. Time Farmers was the last screening in the series. It took place Friday August 29th at 9pm in Rotary Park.
Big thanks to Stefan Gruber for introducing Laura to my work when he did a screening at Quickdraw on one of his magical animation tours. I was so excited to visit Quickdraw as I had been a long time admirer from afar. They invited me to do a mini-residency at Quickdraw while I was in town for the screening and I started a new film there!
The Quickdraw Animation Society is a not-for-profit artist-run center encouraging animation production, dissemination and appreciation through screenings, workshops, courses, camps, and other events designed to ignite the public’s passion for the medium, including the GIRAF animation festival held each November. Quickdraw houses western Canada’s largest animation library, and an exciting foundation of introductory through professional-level film and digital production equipment.
